The Philip C. Jessup Cup Competition
The Philip C. Jessup Cup competition is sponsored by the International Law Students Association and involves a hypothetical problem of international law.
What to Expect
- This competition is open to second- and third-year law students.
- Competitors author a written memorandum and present oral arguments before judges acting as members of the International Court of Justice.
- Gonzaga's team is composed of five student advocates selected to represent Gonzaga at the regional competition in February.
- Tryouts are in early fall and normally consist of a five-minute oral argument on pre-assigned cases.
- Applicants are also normally required to submit a writing sample.
