Colin Bowen grew up in the Seattle area. He earned a B.A. in Environmental Policy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before attending Gonzaga Law he worked as a game tester for Nintendo Co., Ltd. and an intellectual property paralegal for Perkins Coie, LLP. Colin is passionate about the environment and enjoys spending his free time rock climbing, backpacking, and cycling.
Trevor Hanzeli is native of Brier, Washington. An Eagle Scout, classically trained bassist, and double Zag, Trevor majored in political science and international studies (with a minor in music) while an undergraduate at Gonzaga. Growing up in the greater Seattle area, spending 6+ years in Spokane, and going on many adventures in Walla Walla with his fiancée, Trevor now considers himself an expert on Washington State. When not at the law school, studying or wedding planning, Trevor aspires to find the time to read and catch up on sleep.
2L/3L Accelerated Representative
Abra Belke is a Montana native, born and raised in Butte. After receiving her graduate degree from The George Washington University, she worked as a legislative aide for Rep. Denny Rehberg (MT-AL). She also worked as a lobbyist for a grassroots ranching organization and the National Rifle Association. She came to Gonzaga Law to participate in the first accelerated-law class, and plans to return to politics after graduation in 2016.
Eric and his family call Spokane home after over a decade of serving in the U.S. Navy. A former
Chief in the Submarine Force means he is not claustrophobic. His last duty station was the
Trident Training Facility located Bangor, Washington as a Master Training Specialist. He has an Undergraduate Degree in Education from Southern Illinois University. He came to Gonzaga Law because he liked the access to Professors and student culture. Eric enjoys anything sports related. Keeping score of how many goals his children score in soccer matches that are “scoreless” is a top priority. Eric is currently the President of the Gonzaga Public Interest Project
Courtney is a Spokane native, graduating from Mead High School in 2009. She attended the University of Washington where she majored in English Literature and in 2012 led the University of Washington coalition of students supporting Rob McKenna for Governor. After graduation Courtney fundraised for an organization whose goal was to encourage young adults to become involved in Washington State politics. In 2013 she was a staff member on a Washington State Senate campaign, and then in 2014 managed a campaign for State Representative. At Gonzaga she is involved in the William O. Douglas Committee and the Women's Law Caucus, and is a legal intern at Wolff, Hislop & Crockett in Spokane Valley. In her free time she enjoys working at her family's cattle ranch, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
Nick was born in Bogota, Colombia but shortly after immigrated to Texas which he now calls home. He graduated from Mansfield Timberview High School in 2010, and then attended Texas Christian University obtaining a B.A. in Political Science, while double-minoring in Business and Religion. At TCU he was a member of Student Foundation, a Frog Camp Mentor, and Vice-President of Ambassadors.
At Gonzaga he has been involved in SBA as a rep both his 1L and 2L year. He is active in the Hispanic Law Caucus, International Law Society, and a competing member of the National Trial Team. Additionally, he is the Lieutenant Governor for the American Bar Association Student Division 12th Circuit. In his free time he enjoys playing the piano, reading, playing sports, and cheering on his beloved TCU Horned Frogs.
1L/2L Accelerated Representative
Josh is a Tacoma, Washington native who grew up there and in neighboring University Place. He graduated from Washington State University in December 2014 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice, a degree which he earned in two and a half years in Pullman. Josh is engaged to his high school sweetheart, Shelbie, with a wedding date set for summer 2016. He has one sibling, an 8 year old brother named Joey. In his free time, Josh enjoys watching sports and playing them. Josh roots for Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, Golden State Warriors, and Washington State Cougars. Additionally, he enjoys TV and movies, with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Top Gear, and Doctor Who counting among his favorites. Josh is still undecided about his future after law school, but he has a general interest in Constitutional Law and Politics.
Ben Asare is from Sacramento, California and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point for his undergraduate education. At West Point, Ben majored in American Legal Studies. Outside of school, Ben enjoys going to Church, hanging out with friends, sports, movies, and jazz. Ben is blessed to have the opportunity to represent the 1L class and ensure that their ideas are heard.
Ryan Dalessi is from Whittier, California and attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona for his undergraduate degree. At NAU Ryan majored in criminology and minored in both psychology & political science. Ryan chose Gonzaga University School of Law to further his studies due to their emphasis in social justice. Ryan enjoys anything and everything regarding sports, spending time with his dog Callie, and of course playing the occasional game of Bingo.
Meagan Nibarger is a Ravensdale, WA native and attended Gonzaga University for undergrad where she graduated with a degree in criminal justice with a political science minor. Like many other Zags, she loves Gonzaga so much that she decided to stay for law school. In her spare time, Meagan enjoys running with her dog Roca, yoga, camping with her family, and is an avid Zags and Seahawks fan.
