Earlier in this issue I have argued that perspective is an essential ingredient for good lawyering and that part of perspective is the lawyer’s “horizon” of personal experience. Professor Fejfar’s article on foundational consciousness explores in considerable depth the experiential antecedents forming one’s “horizon.” His detailed focus on foundational consciousness adds an important layer of analysis to the discussion.
