Several years ago, in an article which appeared in the Journal of Legal Education, Dean John Mudd commented that persons writing in the area of legal education agree that although law schools achieve some goals, the “overall assessment of legal education is anything but favorable.” Mudd’s observation is still relevant today. Criticism seems to abound with respect to legal practice, the legal system, and legal education.
