Biographical Information
Before joining the faculty of Gonzaga Law School in 2003, Professor Williams practiced law as an associate with Perkins Coie in Seattle, Washington from 1990-1995, and as an associate and then shareholder with Bennett Bigelow & Leedom, P.S. from 1995-2003. Her practice focused on representation of institutional and individual health care providers with regard to regulatory affairs, corporate compliance, public and private payment issues, and fraud and abuse.
During the course of her practice, Prof. Williams acted as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Centers, and the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is a member and past president of the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, and an author and editor of the Washington Health Law Manual. She is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the American Society for Law, Medicine and Ethics.
She is admitted, to practice in the Supreme Court of Washington, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington. Professor Williams was selected as a 2005-2006 Health Law Scholar by St. Louis University School of Law’s Center for Health Law Studies.
