This year’s special guest speaker is Professor Robert A. Williams, Jr., a nationally known lawyer, judge, notable author and legal scholar in the ﬁeld of Federal Indian Law, International Law and Indigenous Peoples Rights, and Critical Race and Post Colonial Theory who will give you his perspective on Tribal Law & Justice.
A judiciary panel consisting of local tribal Judges Chief Judge Gloria Ochoa, Judge Juliana C. Repp and Judge Thomas N. Tremaine will provide an in-depth guide into Practicing in Tribal Courts. Local tribal gaming and tribal business expert Brian P. McClatchey of K & L Gates will give a Tribal Law Case Law Update and Insurance and Financial expert Christian R. Cox of Moloney +O’Neill will present a comprehensive presentation on Doing Business in Indian Country, covering issues such as construction, TERO (Tribal Employment and Rights Ofﬁce), contracting-sovereignty-choice of law-Alternative Dispute Resolution, OSHA, ADA, ERISA and Worker’s Compensation. Ethical Issues in Indian Law and Practicing in Tribal Courts will be covered by a panel of tribal judges with moderator Administrative Law Judge Lisa Dickinson.
