The team of Casey Linane-Booey and Megan Mahon performed excellently, but did not make it to the semifinals.
The team of Danturty (Danny) Hemachandra and James Blankenship performed excellently as well, and did make it to the semifinals as the number one seed, but did not advance to finals.
That disappointment was later followed by great news. Hemachandra and Blankenship won overall Best Brief in the competition. In addition, Hemachandra won overall Best Oral Advocate in the competition.
“Congratulations to both teams for a job well done,” said Professor Ann Murphy. “They brought Gonzaga to the East Coast and made us all look good. A big thank you to the coaches and adjunct professors Chris Crago and Eric Whiting of Paine Hamblen law firm for their excellent assistance. A big shout out as well to our legal research and writing staff for their great instruction.”
