This academic year, the Gonzaga Law administrative suite has three new faces. Sandra Simpson is the new Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Heidi Holland is the new Associate Dean of Students, and Stephen L. Sepinuck is the new Associate Dean for Administration. These three new Deans join Associate Dean for Faculty Research & Development Jason Gillmer on the administrative team of the Law School.
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Sandra Simpson has been teaching at Gonzaga Law since 2007, following two years of teaching at Whitworth University and another seven years in legal practice. Simpson also serves as a contributing faculty member for the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning.
“I am excited to be part of this administrative team during this dynamic time in the law school’s history.” said Simpson. “Gonzaga has been a proven innovator in the area of legal education, and I look forward to being involved in more exciting innovations at Gonzaga.”
Associate Dean of Students
Associate Dean of Students Heidi Holland began teaching at Gonzaga law in 2008, after 16 years of litigation experience. Holland served at the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in the Spokane office for almost 10 years. She also has experience in private practice, as a prosecutor, and as a judicial clerk.
“The students have always been my favorite part of working at Gonzaga. Now I have the best of both worlds; I still get to teach, and I get to be involved with a larger population of students in my role as Dean of Students.” said Holland.
Associate Dean for Administration
Associate Dean for Administration Stephen L. Sepinuck began teaching at Gonzaga Law in 1991, after practicing in commercial law in Florida and California. A recognized commercial and transactional law expert, Sepinuck has authored nine books on the subject, and serves on the editorial board of The Business Lawyer.
“This is a challenging time for both law schools and legal education.” said Sepinuck. “However, I am pleased to be part of an administration that is adapting to the increase in demand and proud to part of a faculty that continues to embrace the types of innovation that will prepare our students for the modern practice of law.”
Welcoming New Deans
“This group of new associate Deans brings strong experience and great ideas to the administrative team,” said Jane Korn, Dean of Gonzaga Law. “All three of them are building on the great work of their predecessors and I look forward to working with them to continue the tradition of a great legal education at Gonzaga.”
