Class Profile: Fall 2011

Number of Female Matriculants Grows Dramatically

Gonzaga University School of Law is pleased to welcome the class of 2014.

The 176 students who matriculated this year emerged from an extremely competitive applicant pool of 1,389, said Director of Admissions Susan Lee.

"Most notably, the number of female matriculants grew 11 percent," Lee said; "women comprise 51 percent of our incoming class.

"We continue to be committed to an ethnically diverse class," she added. "This year, underrepresented minorities represent nine percent of our incoming class."

Gonzaga Law's matriculants have strong academic credentials. Their median undergraduate grade performance is 3.33, and our median LSAT score remains a strong 155.

Our new 1Ls earned their degrees from 84 different post-secondary institutions, including Boston College, University of Wisconsin, Bowling Green, and Carroll College.

They hail from 29 states, including our home state of Washington. Many have traveled considerable distances to join us; they’ve come from Michigan, South Carolina, New Mexico, and many more.

Out-of-state students represent 59 percent of our incoming class, and we're also pleased to welcome students from the Canadian province of British Columbia.

"As our incoming students embark on their first year of law school, we have much to enjoy and look forward to, as it is certain they will continue to achieve and contribute to our communities," Lee said.
