Low-Cost Legal Assistance through ULA

Gonzaga University School of Law University Legal assistance provides services for:

• Low-income persons 60 years of age and older.
• Low-income taxpayers (up to 250% of Federal poverty level) with Federal tax problems before the Internal Revenue Service and the United States Tax Court.

To apply directly to ULA, call 509-313-5791.

Any other cases handled by ULA are referrals from the Northwest Justice Project’s Coordinated Legal Education, Advice, and Referral CLEAR Service, which provides online applications or can be called at 888-201-1014.

The Moderate Means Program

The Center for Law in Public Service oversees Gonzaga’s participation in the statewide Moderate Means Program. Through the Moderate Means Program, law students work to provide access to justice to people of “moderate means”: those who make too much to qualify for legal aid but not enough to retain an attorney at market rates.

• To apply for services through the Moderate Means Program, please go to our website and fill out the online application. This will only take a few minutes.
• After we receive your application, a Moderate Means Program student intern will call you to review your information and complete your intake.
• If your income falls below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, you should contact the CLEAR Program instead at 888-201-1014.
