| Thomas More scholars enjoy a recent reunion. |
Since the Thomas More Scholarship began in 1980, the program has graduated more than 200 Scholars.
Program alumni demonstrate a diversity of professional interests and a strong, practical commitment to public service through law. A substantial number of program alumni have served as law clerks for federal and state trial and appellate court judges.
Many Scholars have begun their legal careers as government or legal services attorneys at the federal, state, and local levels in a number of different jurisdictions across the United States. Others have worked for civil legal service providers.
Thomas More alumni include tribal and state court trial judges, magistrates, professors, as well as a U.S. State Department official working oversees, an Army JAG Corps lawyer, a director of an international NGO, and a Washington State Supreme Court Justice. Many remain in full-time public service work, while others express their dedication to public service by handling pro bono cases and serving on the boards of directors of non-profit organizations.
