Gonzaga Students Have Amazing Experiences

Prof. Inga Laurent, Externship Director

~ Researching and compiling evidence for fresh homicide cases.

~ Advising on telecommunication law as a debate that polarizes the nation takes place around you.

~ Assisting on an important water litigation case that saved a city and its taxpayers $22,000 in third-party counsel.

~ Helping at-risk youths by making the complex process of emancipation clearer.

These are all scenarios that might be simulated in a classroom - but they could never be replicated.

This past summer, Gonzaga Law students experienced firsthand these very situations and others like them. In doing so, they gained the invaluable real-world practical skills that complement and solidify their theoretical learning.

"There are literally far too many student accomplishments for me to brag about when it comes to our externs," says Prof. Inga Laurent, who heads the externship program at Gonzaga Law.

"Our students truly have some amazing experiences, and these are just a few examples."
