Snipes wins child advocacy scholarship
Dean Earl Martin with CHAD scholarship winner Kaydee Snipes.
Kaydee Snipes, a first year Gonzaga Law student, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Child Advocacy Association (CHAD).

The Child Advocacy Association promotes the health, education, and welfare of children through community service projects, educational forums, and fundraising events.

Snipes said she has always wanted to give back to the community because she realizes the importance of helping our youth in order to shape a better society. She believes youth must be raised in a nurturing environment, rather than a punitive one. She is passionate about helping those who cannot help themselves.

Snipes, who is originally from Great Falls, Montana, graduated with a degree in Sociology and Justice Studies from Montana State University. She said she came to Gonzaga Law as a result of her passion “to understand and help people from other cultures, socio-economic situations, races  . . .  and backgrounds.”

She appreciates Gonzaga Law’s dedication to public interest law and hopes to one day work in a Northwest community.

Snipes has been active in several organizations that advocate for children, including the Student Organization for Victim’s Advocacy (SOVA) and the Christmas Angel Tree and Blanket drive.
