Bullet::Copying

Copiers

The library has copy rooms located adjacent to the elevators on the first and second floors of the library. There is no copier on the third floor.

You can use either cash or a library copy card to make copies. Copiers accept both coins and bills. A change machine is located in the second floor copy room. When you use a copy card, the cost is $0.09 per copy. When using cash, the cost is $0.10 per copy. Other campus copy cards, such as ones from the Foley Library, will not work in the library’s copy machines and vice versa.

Copy Cards

Each summer or fall semester the library provides each entering students with a copy card containing five complimentary copies for use in the library’s copiers. These copy cards are distributed when students are signed onto their network accounts for the first time.

To prolong the life of your copy card, follow these tips:

  • Write your name on it with a permanent marker, available at the Circulation Desk, so that it can be returned to you if lost and found.
  • Keep the copy card clean, and don't bend it.
  • Avoid high temperatures or strong magnetic fields, both of which can erase the information on the card.
  • Remember to remove it from the card reader after you have finished copying.

You can buy a new copy card or add value to your current card by using the copy card dispenser located in the second floor copy room. To buy a new card, insert at least a $1 bill in the card unit; you’ll receive a copy card ($0.73 cost) and the value of three copies ($0.27). If you wish to add more value to your copy card, reinsert you card into the dispenser and insert more money.
