Microsoft Outlook Configuration

This handout shows you how to configure Outlook 2003 for using your e-mail on the lab computers. You can also use this handout to configure your laptop to get your law school e-mail while you are connected to the network in the building using the Microsoft Exchange Server.

This handout does not cover the configuration of Outlook Express or POP3 settings.

1. Click Start-Control Panel. In Control Panel click the Mail Icon. The Mail Setup-Outlook dialog box appears as shown below. Click E-mail Accounts.

 

The E-mail accounts dialog box appears.

2. Choose Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

3. Choose Microsoft Exchange Server, click Next.

4. In the Microsoft Exchange Server text box, type lawmail.gonzlaw.gonzaga.edu. Uncheck Use Cached Exchange Mode. In the User Name text box, type your user name e.g., JSmith and then click on the Check Name button. Your name will appear underlined as shown below. If you are configuring on your laptop you will be prompted for your username and password and then your name will be underlined.

5. Click Next and the E-mail Accounts dialog box appears.

6. Click Finish and you are done.
