Laptop Configuration

This is part two of a two part process. If you have not completed part one - Network Configuration - do so before beginning part two.

Step 1: Change Your Laptop Computer Name

Windows 7 and Vista

  • Click on the Microsoft Orb —> type sysdm.cpl in the search line —> if prompted, click Continue
  • In the System Properties dialog box click Change
  • In the Computer Name box enter your username
  • Restart your computer

XP

  • Click Start —> right click on My Computer —> click Properties
  • In the System Properties dialog box click the Computer Name tab —> click Change
  • In the Computer Name box enter your username
  • Restart your computer

OS X

  • Open System Preferences —> click the Sharing icon
  • In the Computer Name box enter your username

Step 2: Connect to the Wireless Gonzaga Community Network
