Connecting Your Mobile Device for Wireless and E-Mail Use
Important Note: Instructions can vary from device to device and between wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc.); therefore, it's important that you rely on the product and network specific instructions that come with your device and are given to you by your carrier. The basic configuration information below is intended to provide assistance and is not a step-by-step guide.
- Wi-Fi —> Gonzaga Community
When prompted for username if you were not asked to configure for the domain, iPhone users in particular, you will need to type our domain name in front of your username. For example, gonzlaw\<username>
- Your E-mail address —> <username>@lawschool.gonzaga.edu
- Password —> (case sensitive network password)
- Server Name —> gemweb.gonzaga.edu
- Domain —> gonzlaw
- SSL required —> Yes
Helpful Notes for Your Configuration Journey
- Do not choose POP3 or IMAP when configuring your smartphone. Instead, the option to select will be "Exchange," "Corporate Email," or "Corporate Sync." If you were using POP3 or IMAP prior to our move to Microsoft Exchange 2010, you will need to delete that account and reconfigure.
- On some phones, Androids in particular, you may be prompted for Domain\Username when configuring. In this field type gonzlaw\<username>.
- Blackberry devices cannot use Exchange ActiveSync. They can, however, be configured to synchronize e-mail only. Using the Set-up Wizard to add an email account, enter your e-mail address and password. If the BlackBerry Internet Service indicates there was a problem, select "I will provide the settings." For e-mail, select Microsoft Outlook Web Access URL and enter https://gemweb.gonzaga.edu. When prompted for your username you will need to type or domain name in front of your username, for instance, gonzlaw\<username>.
