Biographical Information

Before joining the Gonzaga faculty, Dean Donigan was a Managing Attorney at Spokane Legal Services, where she represented low-income urban and reservation American Indians in federal, state, and tribal courts. Her current activities include various committees, including the Access to Justice, Education Committee (chair, 1999-2000), and the Technology Bill of Rights Committee. She also serves on the Council on Public Legal Education; and the Washington Supreme Court Gender and Justice Commission. 

Previous Washington State Bar Association activities include the Business Law section's Committee on the Law of Commerce in Cyberspace, and the Family Law Section where she served as chair and as a member of the Executive Committee. She received the Professional of the Year Award from the Family Law Section in 1989.

She served as a commissioner on the Washington State Human Rights Commission; was appointed chair of the Washington State Child Support Schedule Commission; and received the 1994 Leadership Award for work in government from the YWCA, Spokane County. 

Professor Donigan has been a frequent speaker at bar and judicial conferences. She was a consulting editor and on the editorial board of the Family Law Deskbook and the author of two chapters in the Deskbook. Her speaking engagements and other publications have been primarily in the family law area.

Professor Donigan has taught a variety of courses, but is currently teaching Payment Systems, Introduction to Family Law, and Advanced Family Law.
