Biographical Information

The Honorable Richard White practiced for 10 years in the area of Family Law before being appointed to the District Court in 1991.

He has been an adjunct for the law school since 1999 where he teaches Community Property. He also serves on several boards:

  • Spokane Public Library Board of Trustees
  • KSPS Public television Board of Directors
  • West Central Community Center Board of Directors
  • Excelsior Youth Center Board of Directors

Judge White is a frequent lecturer at Spokane County and Washington State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education seminars. He has lectured and written on numerous topics related to criminal trial practice, family law trial practice and ethics.

Judge White has served on numerous county and state bar association committees and he was the Vice-President of the Spokane County Bar Association until his appointment to the District Court.

In 2002, the Spokane County Domestic Violence Consortium awarded Judge White the Outstanding Leadership Award.
