Biographical Information
Karen L. Sayre is a principal in the law firm of Sayre and Sayre, P.S., Spokane, Washington. She received her undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University in 1980 and her J.D. (cum laude) from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1985.
Prof. Sayre is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Spokane and Lincoln County Bar Associations, the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, Washington Women Lawyers (Spokane Chapter President, 1988; Woman of the Year, 1991), and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is a Past-President of Women Helping Women Fund, and is Past-Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Elder Law Section.
Prof. Sayre is a certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, an American Bar Association-approved board certification organization. She has been designated a "Super Lawyer" by the publication Washington Law and Politics for the years 2000 and 2002.
She is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Washington Women Lawyers Foundation and is also a former member of the Board of Directors of Law Fund, an organization dedicated to providing legal services to the poor. Her practice emphasizes estate and disability planning, governmental benefits law for disabled individuals, and Elder Law.
