Biographical Information
In private practice since 1984, Jeff Finer represents criminal defendants, injured workers, and plaintiffs in wage and employment claims.
His practice predominately involves federal trial and appeals to the Ninth Circuit. He was lead counsel in a Double Jeopardy appeal argued in 1996 before the United States Supreme Court.
He has been vice president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has written extensively on advanced criminal practice techniques.
Since 1996, Prof. Finer has been vice-president of the board governing the Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho.
As a 1996 visiting professor here, he taught criminal law, white-collar, criminal trial process and trial advocacy. In 2000-2001, he coached the Gonzaga Law School team in the Trial Advocacy competition.
