For Current Students
CLIPS sponsors at least one fellowship information panel each year to help match students with potential grant opportunities. In addition, CLIPS disseminates specific fellowship information, such as the grants and scholarships listed below.
- Latina/o Bar Association of Washington Alena Suazo Memorial Scholarship
Alena Suazo fought for the voiceless, the oppressed, and the disenfranchised, and she did it with grace, humor, determination, and an unrelenting spirit. She lived each day to the fullest, and gave her entire self to the causes and people she cared about. This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a law student committed to social justice work.

- Labor and Employment Law Summer Clerkship Grant
The Labor and Employment Law Summer Clerkship Grant provides summer funding for one law student from each of Washington’s three law schools to gain hands-on labor and employment law experience at a non-profit or government agency. In 2011, the summer grant award was $6,000. Funding is provided by the Labor and Employment Section of the Washington State Bar Association along with the law schools at Gonzaga University, Seattle University, and the University of Washington. Applications are accepted during April. When they become available, application materials will be linked here. - WSBA Juvenile Law Section Bar Stipend
The WSBA Juvenile Law Section provides a Youth Law Bar Scholarship to recognize the commitment of law students who have shown excellence in preparing for the practice of Juvenile Law. Students who have demonstrated achievement and commitment in the areas of child welfare and youth law are encouraged to apply. The scholarship provides a cash stipend to a 3L to use toward his/her bar study. The application period runs from late July through mid-August.
