State Court

  • National Center for State Courts Judicial branch links and more for each state. Many Appellate and Supreme Courts advertise their judicial clerkships online, including Washington's Division II and III courts.
  • Consortium Judicial Database Eleven Northwest schools team up to provide a comprehensive list of available clerkships at local, state, and some federal levels. This database is updated mid-summer. Contact the the Center for Professional Development for the required username and password.
  • GU School of Law Job Postings Some judges post positions with the Center for Professional Development, and we post them to our job board.
  • Vermont Law School’s Guide to State Judicial Clerkships is a comprehensive guide to the procedures for applying for state court judicial clerkships at all levels in all 50 states and some U.S. territories.

Includes judges' opinions and news coverage, providing insight into their thinking and valuable interview background. Lexis also offers Courtlink, where you can research the caseload of the circuit and district courts, several state courts, and individual district court judges.
  • The 2008 Guide to State Judicial Clerkship Procedures: Requirements and deadlines for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
  • Judicial Yellow Book: Biographical profiles and contact information for details about 3,500 federal and state judges, including education and experience. Staff information, when provided by chambers, includes the names of law clerks and their law schools.
