- Research the areas of law that interest you.
- Research firms and organizations of interest:
- How does this firm/organization stack up against competitors?
- What is the organizational culture?
- What are its values and personality?
- Develop a winning resume
It should:
- Differentiate you from other candidates,
- Articulate your competitive advantage,
- Effectively tell your story.
- Refine your interview skills so you feel confident
- Learn how to approach interviews and interviewers.
- Become familiar with the questions you are likely to be asked and develop appropriate responses.

- Reevaluate your search
Be critical of yourself: How are you doing? Where could you improve? - Learn and be attentive to job-search etiquette
Etiquette is critical:
- Show respect to everyone with whom you are in contact during your job search.
- Attend functions when you RSVP, or send regrets if you are not be able to attend.
- Write timely thank-you letters, return calls promptly, and let those that help you know that you appreciate their efforts.
