North Idaho
Blue Water, Tall Mountains
![]()
When crossing into Idaho from Spokane, it doesn't take long to catch a glimpse of the blue water.
Idaho has the greatest concentration of lakes of any Western state. Some are large and deep, others are remote and intimate. All are framed by densely forested mountains and lush green valleys.
From fishing to water skiing, sailing to paddling, the lakes and rivers of North Idaho provide a wealth of recreational opportunities. Best of all, most are bordered by public lands, so access is free to all.
