The Public Interest Law Concentration requires that you:
- Complete these courses:
- Civil Rights
- Public Benefits Law
- Jurisprudence, or Justice & Society
- Complete at least one other course from the list below
- After obtaining Rule 9 eligibility, complete:
- at least two consecutive semesters of at least four credits each at the Clinic,
or
- at least two consecutive semesters of at least three credits each at an approved externship program (for this purpose, a semester would include the summer after your second year, so that you could combine clinical experiences in that summer and the fall semester of the third year).
- Complete a directed research project on an issue of Public Interest Law
- Including the above, complete a minimum of 18 credits from:
- clinical courses
- approved externships
- and the courses listed below
NOTE: Students must have an average grade point of at least 3.0 in the classroom and clinical courses taken for the concentration (for this purpose, all courses taken from this list will be deemed taken for the concentration).

Remember: If you plan to pursue a concentration, you are expected during your sixth semester to submit a Concentration Declaration Form to the Registrar's Office.
