Eligibility

A student who fails to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.200 or higher at the end of the first year, or any time thereafter, will be dismissed. For the purpose of this rule, “first year” means the first academic year following admission, regardless of the number of courses enrolled in or credits earned.

A student dismissed for academic reasons will not be allowed to enroll in courses for the next semester or the next summer school session.

A student who enrolls in courses before all of his or her grades are submitted to the Registrar’s Office, does so at his or her own risk.

If, when all grades are submitted, a student has been dismissed, the student’s registration will be canceled and the fees and tuition paid for registration in that semester or summer school session will be refunded in full.

Eligible students may not enroll for more than six (6) academic credit hours in any one five-week session and no more than twelve (12) academic credits over both summer sessions, without specific written permission from the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. This rule applies to dual-degree students who will be dually enrolled in the law school and the graduate school.

Note: Three (3) credits each summer session is considered full-time.
