Choosing a Public Service Activity

You are responsible for selecting the public service activity you would like to perform to fulfill Gonzaga's public service requirement.
- If you need help, consider using Gonzaga University's Service Learning Web site.
- It has a great deal of information on agencies that cooperate with the Center for Community Action and Service Learning (CCASL).
- You have the option of choosing an agency on your own, through the law school public service liaison, through the Gonzaga University's Service Learning Web site, or through the Community Service Fair held on main campus each semester.
- If you do choose an activity on your own, you'll need have your choice authorized by the law school liaison, who will consult with CCASL's Service Learning Coordinator.
How to certify your Public Service activity
-
-
The forms are also available in the Registrar's office.
-
You'll need to complete the forms and submit them to the Public Service Liaison.
-
Keep two copies of the
Approval Form for yourself - one to be left with the organization you'll be working with prior to starting, and one to submit to the Registrar with the
Completion Form once you've completed your service.
-
Once your forms are filled out and you have authorization, then you'll meet with the organization you've chosen, to coordinate training, hours, and other details.
-
Important: It is your responsibility to supply the
Approval Form and the recipient
Completion Form to the agency you'll be working with during your initial meeting.
-
Once you have completed your service, you'll then be responsible for having the organization you worked with complete the
Completion Form.
-
Then you'll need to submit the completed
Approval Form and
Completion Form to the Registrar. Both forms must be presented to the Registrar together, upon completion of your requirement.
-
Got all that? If you have any questions, please contact the law school liaison or your faculty advisor.
