The first year of the research and writing program focuses on:
- Developing familiarity with research materials including the development of an individualized research process;
- Learning to use basic analytical skills to synthesize and apply legal rules;
- Drafting accurate, complete, and concise research reports.
First Semester: simple analysis, closed synthesis, single-issue open memo, major memo.
Second Semester: continue focus on expository writing and increasingly complex research assignments.
