Participants are selected based on motivation, academic achievement, and a commitment to serving the public interest through the practice of law.

Scholarship are awarded for one academic year and may be renewed if the recipient satisfies the program requirements.

The Thomas More Scholarship Program is named for Sir Thomas More, the noted 16th-century English lawyer, scholar, and statesman.
