How to Apply

You are welcome to apply for the program throughout the year. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible: Applications are processed as they are received until the program is full and payments have been received.
- Submit a completed application form (pdf).
- Include $200 non-refundable application fee (pdf)
- Non-Gonzaga students: Include an official copy of your law school transcript showing academic good standing (Gonzaga students are not required to provide a transcript.)
Cancellation Policy
Gonzaga reserves the right to alter or cancel the Florence Summer Law Program. Cancellation could occur if:
- The program does not meet a minimum enrollment of 45 students by April 1 of the year applied for;
- Unforeseen international events occur that would substantially adversely affect program operations, or seriously compromise student safety.
If the program should be canceled, students will be notified in writing as soon as possible; all payments to Gonzaga made by students in connection with the program will be refunded.

Passport Requirements
Valid passports are required for travel to Italy and are the sole responsibility of the student.
- Be sure your passport has at least six months left before expiration, as many countries will not allow entrance otherwise.
- If you do not have a valid passport, you should obtain one at the earliest possible date. More information on passports is available at the nearest State Department Passport Office or the U.S. Postal Service.
Insurance Coverage
International Student Identity Card
Students accepted into the Florence Summer Law Program are required to have an International Student Identity Card (ISIC card). The ISIC provides:
- Medical insurance coverage in accordance with the terms of its policy
- Other benefits, including, but not limited to:
- reduced admissions charges at many museums
- discounts at many cafes and stores in Europe

ISIC applications are processed through Gonzaga University's main campus.
Driver's License
If you plan to drive in Italy and elsewhere in Europe during the duration of the program, we strongly recommend that you obtain:
- A valid international driver's license
- Liability and collision insurance coverage

- We recommend that you insure your personal property against loss or theft.

Course Materials
Course materials are not available for purchase in Florence; they must be purchased before you depart.
Books may be purchased through the University Bookstore in the Spring of 2009.
